American Airlines has announced significant expansions to its 2025 summer flight schedule, offering travelers more options for their getaways. The airline plans to introduce new European destinations and increase capacity on Asian routes, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing global connectivity.

American Airlines’ New European Routes

As part of the American Airlines 2025 schedule, the carrier is expanding its European offerings with new and resumed routes. The American Airlines summer flights will include service to:

  1. Edinburgh, Scotland (resuming after a five-year hiatus)
  2. Athens, Greece
  3. Madrid, Spain
  4. Milan, Italy
  5. Rome, Italy

These additions reflect American Airlines’ commitment to connecting major U.S. cities with popular European destinations. Tickets for these new American Airlines flights will be available starting September 9th, 2024.

Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, commented on these American Airlines travel updates. “We look forward to providing customers with more ways to visit their favorite destinations in Europe next summer. Resuming service to Edinburgh and adding new routes to other popular destinations across the continent will offer customers convenient access from American Airlines’ industry-leading domestic network to all that Europe has to offer.”

  • Flights to Edinburgh will depart from Philadelphia
  • Rome will be served from six different U.S. airports
