Apple has introduced a major AirTag update that enables travelers to track lost baggage with AirTag by sharing location data directly with airlines, helping reduce the chances of lost baggage.
Starting in early 2025, major airlines using AirTag include Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and international carriers such as British Airways and Lufthansa. This feature will be available at select airports initially.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, emphasized the update’s significance, stating, “The Find My network and AirTag have proven to be a powerful combination for users while traveling. David Kinzelman, United’s chief customer officer, also highlighted the customer benefits: “This feature will soon make it easier for them to share location information with us safely and securely, helping our customer service agents work more efficiently and giving our customers added peace of mind.”
