This fall, Chicagoans can once again raise a spooky glass as the city’s most anticipated Halloween pop-up bar, “Never Trust The Living Chicago,” returns to River West. Hosted at The Dandy Crown, the immersive experience has become a seasonal staple thanks to its creative menu, eerie décor, and themed programming.
What is “Never Trust The Living Chicago”?
Halloween in Chicago is filled with haunted houses, neighborhood celebrations, and nightlife events. However, “Never Trust The Living” offers something unique: a chance to sip spooky cocktails in a festive, theatrical space. It’s an immersive haunted pop-up bar that Chicago residents and visitors look forward to every year.
Beyond the drinks, it often features tarot readings, pumpkin carving, and other free activities, making it one of the standout Chicago Halloween events.
Who Runs This Chicago Halloween Pop-Up Bar?
The concept is created and run by The Dandy Crown, a River West bar-restaurant known for its eclectic style. The cocktail program, led by Beverage Director Sarah Syman, delivers inventive seasonal drinks.
Past highlights have included the Purple People Eater with vodka and ube foam, the mezcal-based Red Right Hand, and the bourbon-driven Psycho Killer. Non-alcoholic options are also available, adding to the appeal for a wide audience.
