Disney World water parks are making waves for guests looking to beat the heat this summer. Disney Parks Blog shared that both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, will be open daily from May 21 through September 7.

Why is this a big deal? With dual openings, visitors can now experience the full spectrum of water-based thrills and chills that Disney has to offer.

Typhoon Lagoon features the iconic Crush ‘n’ Gusher water coaster and North America’s largest wave pool, where guests can catch six-foot swells beneath the watchful eye of Mount Mayday.

Meanwhile, Blizzard Beach brings winter wonder to summer with Summit Plummet, a 120-foot tall free-fall slide that sends daring riders down at speeds up to 60 mph. This makes it one of the tallest and fastest water slides in the world.

What's New at Disney World for Summer 2025

As part of ongoing Disney water park updates, Blizzard Beach will close from May 1 to May 20 to prepare for the summer, ensuring all attractions are in top shape for visitors. Those planning early May water park visits should plan to visit Typhoon Lagoon during this maintenance period.

The simultaneous operation of both water parks is among several changes that fans can look forward to in 2025. While no new attractions at Disney water parks have been announced this season, the return of dual park operations marks a significant enhancement to the guest experience.
