Travel news alert: Genie out, Lightning in.

Disney World is revamping its popular Genie+ system, transitioning to new “Lightning Lane” passes starting July 24, 2024.

The update introduces two options: Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass to simplify the booking process for park-goers.

This change affects both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, though the Disneyland pass system will retain its current functionality under the new names.

The Multi Pass allows guests to pre-book up to three attractions per day, while the Single Pass caters to individual high-demand rides, including some of the new Disney rides.

For those wondering,”What is Genie Plus Disneyland?”, it was a paid add-on service at Disneyland that allowed guests to skip regular lines for select attractions.

The most significant change is for Walt Disney World visitors, who can now plan their Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, and Disney Resort guests can book their entire stay up to 14 days.

This move addresses guest feedback, allowing for more pre-planning and less day-of stress.

In addition to the pass changes, a Disneyland news blog confirms that the park will continue to offer complimentary Disney PhotoPass downloads with Multi Pass purchases.

The update will blend the best features of the current Genie+ system with the previously popular FastPass+ service, potentially revolutionizing guests’ experiences at Disney parks.

As the tourism industry evolves, Disney’s latest move showcases its commitment to enhancing visitor experiences and streamlining park navigation.
