Southwest Airlines has announced a major expansion of its flight schedule for 2025, introducing new routes and red-eye services to meet increasing demand. With the release of the Southwest Airlines schedule for 2025, travelers can now book flights through June 4, 2025, including various new Nashville flight routes.

Starting April 8, 2025, Southwest Airlines’ new routes will take off from Nashville International Airport (BNA), one of the airline’s fastest-growing hubs. The Nashville Southwest flights will include daily services to Albuquerque, New Mexico; Jackson, Mississippi; and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Southwest will also introduce up to six weekly flights to Providence, Rhode Island, and five to Albany, New York.

For the first time, the airline will offer intra-state service with a new daily route between Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee. This expansion will boost Southwest’s Nashville presence to a record 174 Sunday departures during April and May 2025.

Southwest Airlines Introduces Red-Eye Flights in 2025

As part of its broader network expansion, Southwest Airlines is also entering new territory with red-eye flights in 2025. This marks the airline’s first foray into overnight travel to better serve customers with cross-time zone travel needs.

In February 2025, Southwest will launch red-eye flights from Hawaii to mainland destinations. These routes will include Honolulu, Kona, and Maui, connecting to Las Vegas and Phoenix. The Southwest Airlines red-eye expansion represents a significant shift in the airline’s service strategy, as red-eye options were previously not part of Southwest’s business model.

“The five new flights will increase connectivity from the Hawaiian Islands to dozens of Southwest destinations,” the airline said in its announcement. Flights are scheduled to depart around 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Hawaiian time, with arrival times in the mainland set for early morning the following day.

Affordable Travel with Southwest’s Signature Benefits

In addition to the new Nashville flight routes and overnight services, Southwest continues to deliver on its signature benefits, including two free checked bags for all passengers and the freedom to change or cancel flights without additional fees.

As the airline faces increasing competition, these customer-friendly policies help Southwest stand out from other carriers, especially those seeking cheap flights and affordable travel options.

The airline’s commitment to Nashville Southwest flights is evident, with the new schedule bringing back previously discontinued routes like Nashville to Albuquerque, a route phased out in the 1980s.
