The United Arab Emirates has issued an updated 2025 travel advisory covering several destinations, including Norway, Mexico, Spain, Indonesia, and Italy. The warning cites increased security risks, regulatory changes, and regional instability, urging travelers to exercise “extreme caution.”

The announcement, delivered by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), advises citizens and residents to monitor local developments, confirm flights directly with airlines, and register with the UAE’s Twajudi platform for emergency assistance.

The alert extends to Norway, where authorities have introduced stricter visitor requirements, alongside Mexico, Spain, Indonesia, and Italy. According to the ministry, these destinations are experiencing protests, environmental disruptions, or safety challenges that may directly affect tourists.

MoFA highlighted political unrest in parts of Europe, natural disasters across southern regions, and ongoing security concerns in Latin America and Asia.

In addition, regional tensions in the Middle East have led to flight reroutes and airspace closures, further complicating global travel. Officials said these factors made issuing updated travel warnings from the UAE a necessary step.

UAE Safety Guidelines for Travelers

The ministry reminded travelers to respect UAE tourist regulations and host country laws, including traffic and safety rules. It also urged citizens to follow safety guidelines, such as avoiding demonstrations, staying updated through embassy alerts, and keeping itineraries flexible. Registering with Twajudi remains essential for receiving assistance abroad.

Authorities noted that the situation remains fluid and that advisories could expand or change on short notice. The update underscores the UAE’s proactive stance on safeguarding its citizens and residents overseas while navigating an unpredictable global travel environment.
