Bali flight disruptions intensified as the Indonesia volcanic eruption at Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki prompted the cancellation and rerouting of flights. Since November 13, 84 flights to Bali have been affected at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. Bali airport closures extended to nearby facilities in Ende, Larantuka, and Bajawa.

Volcanic Eruption in Indonesia

Air Navigation authorities issued a Bali travel alert due to ash clouds, which have been problematic since the volcano first erupted on November 4, causing fatalities and injuries.

The Indonesian volcano’s impact on flights has forced carriers such as Air New Zealand, Virgin Australia, and Korean Air to respond by canceling or adjusting flights. Korean Air has canceled all its flights to and from Bali until November 19.

This eruption is part of a series of activities that began in January, marking a turbulent year for the region known as the “Ring of Fire.” Local and international officials continue to monitor the situation, urging travelers to check with their airlines for the latest updates.
