Singapore Airlines has unveiled a landmark S$1.1 billion (approximately US $800 million) investment for international airline cabin enhancements across its fleet of 41 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This marks one of the industry’s most ambitious airline cabin upgrades for 2024.

Airbus A350 Cabins with $800M Investment

The airline’s seven A350-900 ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft will introduce an exclusive First-Class cabin specifically designed for the world’s longest flight routes. These A350 cabin improvements will revolutionize the premium travel experience, featuring an entirely new seat design shared with the upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft.

The popular airline cabin refurbishments extend throughout all cabin classes. Business Class passengers will enjoy enhanced privacy features and innovative comfort solutions across all 41 aircraft. Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins will also receive comprehensive updates to elevate the travel experience, according to Asian Aviation.

Airbus A350 Entertainment System Updates and Retrofit Schedule

The $800M airline investment signals strong confidence in aviation’s future despite current industry challenges. A cornerstone of these improvements is the next-generation KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, promising unprecedented personalization options across all cabin classes. First and Business Class sections will showcase new, state-of-the-art entertainment screens.

“Over the past six years, we have extensively engaged customers and stakeholders in the design of our next-generation long-haul cabin products, anticipating their evolving preferences and expectations down to the finest detail,” said Mr. Goh Choon Phong, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Airlines.

The ambitious retrofit program will commence with the first A350-900 long-haul aircraft entering service in Q2 2026, followed by the ULR variant in Q1 2027. The complete fleet transformation is scheduled for completion by late 2030.
